Sturgeon Electric provided the teledata systems for UCHealth’s new Greeley Hospital and Medical Center.

A nearly 25-technician crew handled network cabling and terminations for the voice, data, backbone fiber optics, telemetry monitoring, and nurse call systems and pulled all cables for the security and distributed antenna systems. The work encompassed nearly 4,500 Cat-6A cables — the equivalent of 800,000-plus feet of Cat-6A cable – from intermediate distribution frames (IDFs) a main distribution frame (MDF) closets to more than 2,000 work area.

The Sturgeon Electric team installed more than 1,000 strands of fiber backbone between closets and for exterior cameras and parking lot telephones. They built out 12 IDF closets, one MDF closet, and one radio room, all with racks, wire managers, ladder racking and grounding, and bonding. UCHealth Greeley Hospital is a 50-bed, acute-care facility that offers everything from diagnostic services to treatment and surgery and serves Greeley and the northern Colorado communities of Ault, Eaton, Evans, Johnstown, Kersey, Milliken, Severance, and Windsor.
