Shamrock Foods Project Peak

Client Shamrock Foods
Completion Date 2021
Location Aurora, Colorado

Sturgeon Electric provided a variety of electrical construction services for a new Shamrock Foods campus in Aurora, Colorado. The work included installation of medium voltage primary distribution for the campus, including a 23-acre refrigerated warehouse and preparing four other buildings for future electric utility services. Sturgeon Electric installed extensive one-line including six electrical services (4-3750kVA services, 2-2500kVA), and six 1MW generators.

This large commercial project required installing 510,000 feet of conduit, 2 million feet of wire, 3,400 light fixtures, 471 pieces of electrical equipment, 105 dock door controls (including raceways and terminations), BAS raceways and cabling, the fire alarm system and low voltage and security raceways.

Sturgeon Electric’s team met the project’s unique challenges head on, from frequently rotating workers and tools used in the freezer sections, to coming up with an innovative plan to safely install the 3,400 light fixtures faster and with a lower materials cost.

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) recognized the project with a 2022 project excellence award.
