September 27, 2024 Sturgeon Electric Invests In The Community Through Youth Sports

Sturgeon Electric Field Named at El Pomar Youth Sports Park

On Saturday, September 21, Sturgeon Electric and Colorado Springs Youth Sports (CSYS) hosted a special ceremony to announce their new partnership and celebrate the newly named Sturgeon Electric Field at El Pomar Youth Sports Park in Colorado Springs.

“We were excited to enhance the facilities and user experience at El Pomar Youth Sports Park,” said Bryce Perkins, Vice President of Sturgeon Electric. “Supporting the communities where we live and work is a core value for us, and we look forward to seeing thousands of young athletes grow through their time on the field.”

The multi-year commitment Sturgeon Electric made assisted with the addition of Kent Olin Field Plaza to the Park. The Plaza, which is nearing completion, will include a 10,000 sq. ft. practice field with a rebound wall, improved restrooms, a pavilion, a concession stand, and a food truck area. These additions increase recreational opportunities and will greatly improve the player and spectator experience at the park.

“Youth sports play an important role in the development of young people in our community,” conveyed Davis Tutt, President of the Board of Colorado Springs Youth Sports. “Among many other lessons, young athletes learn about teamwork, leadership, the value of practice, and how to both win and lose with grace.”

“Through this sponsorship, Sturgeon Electric is making a significant investment in the wellness of children in the Pikes Peak Region and beyond,” remarked Steve Czarnecki, El Pomar Youth Sports Park Executive Director. “This meaningful support helps us continue to provide a high-quality, safe, and affordable sports facility that contributes greatly to the long-term personal development and overall wellness of young people.”

Saturday’s event, held on the newly named Sturgeon Electric Field, included a first pitch thrown by Jon Brender, District Manager with Sturgeon Electric.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact this investment has on the Colorado Springs community!
