Greater Mooses Tooth 1 (GMT1) and Greater Mooses Tooth 2 (GMT2) Transmission Lines ^Transmission

Greater Mooses Tooth (GMT) is part of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) to transfer oil from the Arctic Ocean to the southeastern coast of Alaska. Sturgeon Electric’s Alaska district has supported this key pipeline since the project was approved by the Bureau of Land Management in 2015.

Sturgeon Electric crews installed transmission lines and fiber to provide the system with power for GMT1 and GMT2. GMT1 included pipeline power and fiber installation and was completed in 2018. GMT2 project had a similar scope and was completed in 2020.
