Location:  Northeastern United States

Description: Hurricane Sandy was the deadliest and most destructive tropical cyclone of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, as well as the second-costliest hurricane in United States history. Total damages were estimated at approximately $100 billion. Over 500 MYR Group crew members from around the nation quickly assembled during “off-hours” through MYR Group’s 24-hour emergency dispatching service and traveled to the east coast to perform around-the-clock power restoration services to utility customers.
